Hello, we are Cati, Pascal and Meeko.

We decided to start this project at the end of 2023. Following a series of unfortunate events in Cati’s family, we decided to take a year off from work and travel. Initially, it was supposed to be around the world. We were talking about visiting New Zealand for a month, going to Thailand and enjoying the sun for another month, visiting Cati’s family in Romania, and so on. We were hearing more and more from colleagues and friends who visited New Zealand… in a van. So one day, out of nowhere, Pascal said, “What if we sell our house, buy a trailer, and do a road trip around Canada and the US for a year?” The idea sounded crazy. We had never driven a truck, let alone towed a trailer. We had never camped in a trailer, so we had no idea what that would entail. It just sounded exciting enough, the kind of project that you would remember for your entire life.

We decided to sell our house to fund this project, so we called our real estate agent, and from there the ball kept rolling: we found a buyer, we ordered the trailer, we exchanged our SUV for a truck… and then we received news that we would get a puppy (we had been on the waitlist for a year, since Pascal is allergic to dogs and we were looking for a hypoallergenic dog). At the end of January 2024, Meeko arrived in our lives.

At the end of March 2024, the house was officially sold, and we had to move out. Our friends have an apartment in Montreal, so we moved in for 2 months. It was a challenging transition. There were boxes everywhere, and we felt claustrophobic at times, but in the end, it helped with the transition to the trailer (there is no need to say it’s even smaller 🙂 )

On April 25th, 2024 we picked up the trailer from the dealer, and that’s the day we moved in 🙂
