Jan 3-4th, 2025
At the end of 2024, we became grandparents! While still in Florida, we started planning how to make a quick trip back to Montreal to see our grandson. We could have taken a plane from Tampa, but after discussing with a friend of mine in Houston, she offered to take care of Meeko for us. So… we just had to make it to Houston! 🙂
It was also an opportunity to see Starship 7, which was scheduled to launch on January 10th from Boca Chica, Texas. We were eager to witness it, so we booked a campground in South Padre Island and our flight to Montreal from Houston… we just had to make it from Nokomis, Florida, to the south of Texas in 6 days.
First day: from Nokomis to Tallahassee, Florida.
We booked a Harvest Host (HH) and spent the night at the Tallahassee Automobiles & Collectibles Museum. After driving 531 km, we were quite tired. We were pleasantly surprised by the large HH parking area and really nice neighbours, everyone enjoying the lovely weather and soaking in the sun — us included!

After a well-deserved beer, we visited the museum, which turned out to be a delightful surprise. Below are some photos of the automobiles:
There were many other collectibles in the museum, including boat engines, golf clubs, Batmobiles, playing cards, knives, dolls, pianos — you name it! 🙂 Below are some photos of the items we liked or found interesting enough to capture.
À tantôt!
