We don’t want to make our trip about campgrounds. It’s not about avoiding publicity for them — it’s about the fact that our journey is meant to be more than just campgrounds.
But this one was special, and it deserves its own post… because the people made it magical. The campground was huge and quite full, and most of the guests had decorated their lots, trailers, and golf carts with Christmas decorations. Then, each evening, when the lights came on — that’s when the magic truly happened.
Most of the decorations were inflatable, but some people also had string lights, and a few had tables set up with free cookies. Everyone was smiling, cheerful, and merry!

Almost everyone (we didn’t) had a golf cart, and it was funny to see them driving around in their decorated carts to admire the decorations of others. It felt like a parade of who has the nicest decorations.
We walked, trying to visit a different section each evening. Meeko got cookies 🙂 Twice!
Some people kept their inflatable decorations up during the day as well. They may have been less impressive in the daylight, but they were still charming. We also enjoyed the +20°C weather, not just the decorations.
