After crossing the Saint Laurent River, we decided to head a bit north so that we would have less driving to do the following day. We found a campground in Cap-Chat.

It is fair to say there isn’t much to do in Cap-Chat… it’s a small town. To our surprise, we were welcomed by wind farms and a nice coastline.

After doing a Google search of “what to do near me”, we discovered Projet Éole, the tallest vertical-axis wind turbine in the world. We’re glad we visited it because not only could we explore the outside, but we were also able to go inside the turbine since it is no longer active.

Then it was time to get going toward our next destination. We took the coastal road, hoping for nice views, but also because ChatGPT said it’s a smoother route for towing a trailer (compared to the other road that crosses the mountains). Indeed, it was a smooth ride as you’ll see below but then we hit some quite steep stretches.
Stay tuned for the next post around Rocher-Percé.
