Hello World!

Here we come!

Our journey started on April 25th when we picked up our Airstream from the dealer. We had traded our car for a truck last December, but since no other major changes happened in our day-to-day life, we didn’t notice much difference. The first big change occurred when we moved out of our house into a temporary, smaller apartment, with a puppy on top of it, to get used to living in a smaller space. Since our trailer was still being manufactured, we had no choice but to stay in a transitional place. We sold our house at the end of March, so for almost two months, we learned how to live in a smaller space as a way to prepare for the day when we would pick up our trailer and our living quarters would be even smaller.

Above it’s a picture of Pascal pulling our home into the first camping.

What it felt like… until we got here

Some people envy us when they hear about our project. What they don’t realize is that it comes with a cost, with choices, and with the occasional emotional roller coaster. Would you sell your house with everything in it to fund and do this project? Would you have the courage to go from the security and comfort of a home (rented/owned condo/house… whatever it is) to something on wheels that doesn’t look like a home at all? What we can say is that it has not been an easy ride so far. It came with a lot of challenges, with pressure on us as a couple, and with emotional fatigue from the number of decisions that had to be made on any given day: what do we keep with us, what do we sell, what do we put in storage for when we come back, what papers the notary still needs, or the bank, or the insurance company… who agrees to allow us to “stay” with them since we needed a physical address… and so on.

Now that is behind us, let the adventure begin!
